It’s November Ya’ll!
Can you believe it?? Just a few weeks away from Thanksgiving – the most delicious holiday of the year. (mmmm I can taste it now… pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes…. okay sorry not sorry guys, i’m drooling.)
I love getting dressed up for a nice meal with my family every year but one thing I have to always remind my self when getting picking a Thanksgiving outfit – LEAVE ROOM FOR TURKEY! I have worn jeans or tight dresses in the past that leave little room to breathe, let alone for the T-Day Buffet that’s about to go down. So in light of that I have put together a few different thanksgiving outfit options that will allow you to look put together, festive, classy, and still leave room to indulge in allllllllll the stuffing you want!
Additionally, most of these thanksgiving outfit options can be transitioned easily into a look for the Christmas holidays. Double score!

The basis of the Thanksgivng outfit above is a fitted top with a loose bottom (plenty of room for eatin’) paired with pumps and accessories to dress it up a bit. Who said dressing comfy meant dressing slumpy?? I included three sleeve length options for the shirt depending on your climate and you can dress it up or down depending if you go towards the pants or metallic skirt. (This skirt would be great for New Years too!) I love this color scheme for thanksgiving (as you’ll see throughout my post) as it’s so festive and transitions perfectly into Christmas attire! And also, can we just talk about this wishbone necklace? How cute!!
Okay ladies, now this is the dress of the YEAR! I’m obsessed with it – it hugs all the right places (forgives the rest) and comes in a long sleeved and short sleeved version making it possible to wear the style year round. I have the long sleeved one in black and the short sleeved in blue and fully intend on buying both again in a few different color options.
It’s just such a great base piece that you can dress up or down! And in this color paired with a nude pump and nude accessories it’s the perfect trendy Thanksgiving outfit. Once again this dress color can transition beautifully for Christmas – try accessorizing with Greens for a festive holiday look!
Now as I realize a lot of people don’t go all out and dress up for Thanksgiving here is a, still totally trendy, but more casual option. I’m in love with these velvet leggings and paired with a comfy v-neck and an oversized orange sweater – PERFECT Thanksgiving outfit. (Why is that girls? That’s right, the three C’s – Cute, Comfy, Casual!) Pair this all up with cute gray booties and you’ve got an outfit that’ll fit all the mash potatoes your heart can desire and throw a lil’ sass in the process.
TIP: Stay away from white!! I know it’s so tempting and would be such a pretty color to pair with maroon but, trust me, you do not want turkey grease and gravy stains ruining your perfect white tee.
I hope these Thanksgiving outfit ideas helped give you some options or inspiration for your upcoming Turkey day. Oh, and don’t forget to be a good guest and bring a hostess gift/food item. My Momma always taught me never come empty handed. (Trust me, no one ever got mad at you for insisting on bringing something.) Most of the time the hostess is over the moon that someone actually wants to help! And if they still say no, bring dessert, flowers, or wine, no one can say no to any of those things! (I know I couldn’t…)
